Monmouth Drops Season Finale to CAA Rival Towson

Towson, MD - Monmouth was unable to overcome an early 4-0 deficit to Towson in a CAA women's lacrosse game on Saturday at Tiger Field.

Senior Caroline Brennan scored five goals on five shots in what was the Hawks' season finale. It was the third multi-goal game in a row for the senior. She also controlled four draws in the 20-11 defeat.

In addition to Brennan, senior Danielle McNeely recorded a hat trick and graduate student Kate Carolonza found the back of the net twice. Sophia Lymberis also scored for Monmouth.

Maddie Flynn assisted on two of Monmouth's goals. It was the fifth time she recorded at least two points in a conference game this season.

Shea Berigan, who tallied one assist at Towson, has accounted for at least one point in 15 consecutive appearances.

Monmouth sophomore Caleigh Shore secured a game-high six draw controls. Her 5.25 draw controls per game against CAA opponents is fifth on the circuit.

McNeely was also responsible for four assists, totaling a team-high seven points. She accounted for multiple points in eight of her last nine games.

The Hawks created only three free-position opportunities at Towson, they and came away empty handed on all three.

Monmouth goalie Katie Sullivan finishes the regular season as the CAA leader in saves per game (11.40). Her .480 overall save percentage is second best in the conference.
