TRACK AND FIELD COMPETES AT HARVARD AND BOSTON

BOSTON, MA – The Monmouth University track and field teams competed in two meets over the weekend, combining for one event win and 20 new all-time top-tens. The Hawks posted three top-tens at Harvard's Crimson Elite Meet on Friday before picking up an event win and 17 top-tens at Boston University's Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invite on Saturday.
 
In Friday's scored event, the men came in fourth place out of ten teams with a point total of 35.5, while the women placed sixth out of eleven squads with a score of 32.
 
Among the 20 new top-tens, Mackenzie Jones set a school record on Saturday in the women's 5000-meters with a time of 16:51.50. Yasmeen Tinsley (60mH), Madison Latimer (200m), Gretel Jelmert (pole vault), Tennessee Tremain (one mile run), and Luke Miller (5000m) also posted new freshman records in their respective events.

The Hawks have one final meet before the MAAC Championships. They will host the Monmouth Collegiate Winter Invitational at the OceanFirst Bank Center on Friday February 11 and Saturday, February 12.
