WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth University women's lacrosse head coach
Jordan Trautman announced a dynamic recruiting class of seven players who have signed National Letters of Intent to compete for the Hawks.

The class features Sara Curley, Sophia Ianno, Ayiana Brown, Katie Sullivan, Caleigh Shore, Cara Major and Kayla Wehberg.
"We are thrilled to be welcoming this group of incredibly talented, passionate and dedicated young women into our program," said Trautman. "This group posses the skill, character and culture necessary to succeed in the CAA and we know they are destined for great things throughout their careers here at Monmouth."Â

Sara Curley comes to Monmouth from Lynbrook, New York where she is a student-athlete at Lynbrook Senior High School. She earned First Team All-Conference honors as a sophomore for coach Vinny Tetro and All-County accolades as a junior. Curley is a member of the National Honor Society along with the Math and Science Honor Societies.

Curley played her club lacrosse for LI Empire Green 2023.

Sophia Ianno is the second member of the incoming class from the state of New York. She is from Baldwinsville, New York where she attends Charles W Baker High School. Last spring, she served as a team captain for coach Megan Taber and is a two-year varsity starter. A two-time all-conference selection, she had 73 draw controls and 36 ground balls as a junior. Ianno helped Charles W Baker win a state, regional and sectional championship as a junior.Â

Ianno played her club lacrosse for the Salt City Snipers.

Ayiana Brown joins Monmouth from Denton, Maryland where she attends North Caroline High School. She was a First Team All-Conference selection as a junior for coach Catherine Shockley. As a junior she led her squad to a regional championship. She has earned academic honors and also played soccer at North Caroline.Â

Brown played her club lacrosse for Grit Dallas.

Katie Sullivan comes to West Long Branch via Gainesville, Virginia where she attends Patriot High School. She has earned three varsity letters for coach Juliet Violett and has taken home Second Team All-Conference accolades twice. She has a career 62% save rate.Â

Sullivan played her club lacrosse for 3D Virginia.

Caleigh Shore joins the Hawks from Dallas, Georgia where she is a student-athlete at North Paulding High School. She is a three-year letter winner for coach Kristy Carter, who has scored over 100 goals in her career.Â

Shore played her club lacrosse for Atlanta Storm.

Cara Major joins the Hawks from Camillus, New York where she attends West Genesee High School. She is a multi-year letter winner for coach Shannon Burke. Major earned Second Team All-Conference honors as a junior. She was also a member of the National Honor Society and the National Arts Honor Society.

Major played her club lacrosse for the Salt City Snipers.

Kayla Wehberg is the second member of this class from the state of Maryland. She is from Owings Mills, Maryland and attends Maryvale Prep. Wehberg has been a starting defender for coach Brian Reese since her freshman year. She was a member of the Under Armour Baltimore All-American Team and a member of the Nike American Select Maryland 2023 Team. Wehberg is a member of the National Art Honor Society and the student body president.

Wehberg played her club lacrosse for Skywalkers 2023 Blue.
