Katie Sullivan Named CAA Goalkeeper of the Year; Three Hawks Selected to All-Conference Teams

Lauren Rismani and Marlaina Grimm earned all-conference recognition

April 29, 2026

RICHMOND, Va. – Monmouth women's lacrosse goalkeeper Katie Sullivan was named the Coastal Athletic Association's (CAA) Goalkeeper of the Year, the conference announced Wednesday morning.

Sullivan and Lauren Rismani earned spots on the All-CAA First Team, while Marlaina Grimm landed on the all-conference rookie squad.

The all-conference teams consist of two squads of 12 players each and an all-rookie team. The full list of awards is below.
The Hawks went 9-8 this season, clinching their sixth winning season in nine years under Head Coach Jordan Trautman, the first since 2023.

Sullivan, who earns first-team recognitions for the second year in a row, becomes the first Monmouth player to win a major CAA postseason award and the first Hawk since Cassidy Orban was tabbed MAAC Midfielder of the Year in 2022 to earn a major postseason award. She is the first Monmouth goalkeeper to win a conference's netminder of the year award since Katie Donohoe earned the honor from the NEC in 2013.

The junior from Gainesville, Va., sat atop the CAA's goalkeeping leaderboards this season, leading the league with 160 saves, a 48.2 percent save rate and 9.41 saves per game. She was top 20 nationally in all three statistics. Sullivan now owns the sixth-best save percentage in a season in program history, besting her mark of 48.0 percent in 2025.

With her 160 saves this season, Sullivan has 497 career saves, fourth most in program history. She recorded double-digit saves four times in the team's final five games of 2026.

Lauren Rismani had a record-setting campaign in her only year in West Long Branch, setting the single-season program record with 57 assists and the all-time single-season CAA record with 3.35 assists per game. The Denver, Colo., native tied a program record with eight assists against Campbell on April 4, earning her CAA Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Rismani had multiple points in 16 of the team's 17 games and had at least three helpers on 10 occasions this season. Her 77 points are fifth-most in a single season in Monmouth women's lacrosse history.

Marlaina Grimm lands on the All-CAA Rookie Team following a productive rookie season on The Shore, where she tallied 19 goals and five helpers, and was fifth on the team with 24 points. The Pottstown, Pa., product had a team-high nine free-position goals and led the CAA, converting 56.3 percent of her free-position opportunities.

Grimm recorded hat tricks in victories over La Salle on Feb. 11 and Sacred heart on March 11 and finished her freshman season with goals in 12 of the team's 17 games. She had four multi-point games in conference play.

Monmouth's three all-conference honorees mark the program's most in a season since having four representatives on the CAA's all-conference teams following the 2023 season.
