SOFTBALL ANNOUNCES 2023 SCHEDULE

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – The Monmouth University softball team has officially released its schedule for the 2023 season, which begins at the Charleston Southern Kickoff in South Carolina on February 10. After wrapping up their final season as a member of the MAAC in 2022, the Hawks will play their first CAA series at Hampton on March 11 and 12. Monmouth is scheduled to play 21 games before the team hosts Elon for the home opener on March 18.

The Hawks will play five games in Charleston, SC, including a matchup versus North Carolina Central, one versus Merrimack, two against Siena, and one versus Charleston Southern, who is hosting the opening weekend tournament from February 10-12.

The team then travels down to DeLand, FL to play five games beginning on February 17 at the Stetson Hatter Classic hosted by Stetson University. Two meeting with Fairfield and Mercer highlight the tournament before closing with a game against Stetson on Sunday, February 19.

Monmouth will play in their third and final early season showcase in Greenville, NC. The Hawks are set to meet Saint Joseph's twice, a Big Ten opponent in Maryland, and East Carolina twice, who will be hosting the tournament at their home, Max R. Joyner Family Stadium, from March 3-5.

Following their showcases, the Hawks begin their regular season at Hampton for their first CAA conference games in program history. A double-header at St. John's on March 14 and a midweek trip to Rider the next day lead the Hawks into their home opener versus Elon on the 18th.

A trip to Bethlehem, PA to take on Lehigh on Wednesday, March 22, a conference series at Hofstra on the 25th and 26th, and a home double-header on Tuesday, the 28th wrap up the month.

Monmouth kicks off April with the final seven of a nine-game homestand where they will play two three-game CAA sets (Delaware from Apr. 1-2, North Carolina A&T from Apr. 7-8) with single games versus Columbia (Wed., Apr. 5) and in-state rival Rutgers (Tue., Apr. 11) sprinkled in.

The team heads down south to meet College of Charleston on the weekend on April 15, before traveling back to New Jersey to play at Rutgers on Tuesday and at home versus Rider on Wednesday.

Drexel comes to West Long Branch for a series beginning on April 22 at noon. A week later, the Hawks host Hartford for a double-header. During the first week of May, Monmouth follows up by playing four games in two days, playing each Fairleigh Dickinson and Princeton twice on the road.

The Hawks close their 2023 regular season with a three-game series at Stony Brook on May 6 and 7.

The Colonial Athletic Association Championships will take place from Tuesday, May 9 to Saturday, May 13 and at Bill Edwards Stadium on Hofstra's campus in Hempstead, NY.
