WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – The Monmouth University men's lacrosse team, the 2021 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament Champions, will play North Carolina in the NCAA Tournament First Round on Saturday, May 15, at 12 p.m. in Chapel Hill, N.C.
The Hawks won their second MAAC Championship with a convincing 14-9 victory over Manhattan on Saturday afternoon.

Cade Stratton were named to the All-Tournament Team, while
Matt Soutar was voted as the Tournament Most Valuable Player.
North Carolina is the No. 1 overall seed in the 2021 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship after winning a share of the ACC Regular Season Championship following an 11-2 season and 4-2 conference campaign.
Saturday's game between Monmouth and UNC will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams and the contest will kick off the 16-team tournament. The game will be broadcast live on ESPNU.
The winner of the game will move on to play the winner of Rutgers and Lehigh on May 22.
