Caffarelli’s 100th Goal Highlights Record-Breaking Day for Monmouth in Win Over Hampton, 20-10

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Monmouth Men's Lacrosse delivered a record-setting offensive explosion Saturday, rolling past Hampton 20-10 at Hesse Field.

The Hawks set a program record with 33 points and matched another with 13 assists, while also posting single-game bests in ground balls (50) and faceoff wins (26). It marked just the second time in program history Monmouth has reached the 20-goal plateau.

Ty Caffarelli made individual history, as well, scoring his second goal of the game at the 4:20 mark of the second quarter to reach 100 career goals – setting a new program record. He finished with three goals and three assists, recording his fifth hat trick of the season and 18th of his career.

Monmouth seized control from the outset, scoring the first six goals of the game and taking a 6-2 lead after the opening quarter. The Hawks broke the game open in the second, outscoring Hampton 7-1 to carry a commanding 13-3 advantage into halftime.

Connor Gorman matched his career high with five goals, his second five-goal performance of the season, while adding an assist. Bobby Keane contributed two goals and an assist, and Riley Chester added two goals for his third multi-goal outing this year.

Matt Porazzo (2g, 2a), Ryan O'Rourke (1g, 3a) and Caden Kesselring (2g) each contributed balanced offensive production, while Nick Teets fired a season-high 11 shots with seven on goal.
Monmouth continued to dominate possession throughout, fueled by strong faceoff play. Landon Parker won 14 draws, while Jack O'Neill went a perfect 7-for-7 at the X. Will Hohn Jr. added five more faceoff victories for the Hawks.

Defensively, Gavin Seaman led the effort with three caused turnovers and four ground balls as the Hawks limited Hampton to just 20 shot attempts. Dylan Cadigan earned his fifth win of the season in net, making three saves.
