WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – The Monmouth University men's and women's swimming teams competed for the first time since the 2020 MAAC Championships and turned in some impressive performances during the two-day MAAC Spring Invite at Steadman Natatorium.
Monmouth hosted Manhattan while other schools across the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference also participated in the MAAC Spring Invite series.
Of the noteworthy performances, Monmouth's
Dylan Edge broke his own school record in the 200-yard butterfly to cement his name in the school record book.Â
NOTES & QUOTES
"I have to give credit to our team and their commitment level this year. They had a lot of challenges to deal with and I am impressed with how they responded to the adversity they have faced. To have a number of times faster than last year's MAAC Championship shows they stepped up, were engaged and committed to performing well and I'm really happy they took advantage of the opportunity to compete this week. I'm pleased with their effort and I think this will pay big dividends for us as a program in the future."
