HAMPTON, Va. – The Monmouth University men's and women's swimming teams completed their 2025-26 seasons at the CAA Championships over the past four days at the Hampton Aquaplex.Â
Izan Arroyo Lopez del Castillo capped off an incredible freshman campaign by winning bronze in the 1650 Free event. Arroyo Lopez del Castillo broke a school record three times over the course of the four-day event.
The men's and women's teams combined to set a total of nine school records in the four-day span.Â

Wednesday Events
The men's team wasted little time in breaking a record in its first event of the meet. The 200-medley relay team of
Trevor Nolan,
Owen Dyson,
Evan Belmont and
Andrew Denman-Grimm swam a 1:29.08 and broke a record that stood since 2023.
Thursday Events
Three more records came down for the Hawks during Thursday's action. Arroyo Lopez del Castillo broke the 500 free record in the preliminaries with a time of 4:24.62.Â

Six Hawks advanced to either the Championship, Consolation or Bonus Finals after their performances on Thursday morning.

In the evening finals,
Jenna Pryne set the school record in the 200 IM with a time of 2:05.88. Another relay record came down as the 400-medley relay team of Dyson, Nolan,
Victor Pottier Ibanez and Arroyo Lopez del Castillo clocked a time of 3:16.62.
Friday Events
Five school records were broken and 11 Hawks advanced to the Championship, Consolation or Bonus Finals in Friday's action.Â

The morning session saw
Kacper Sobieszuk set the 100 Fly mark with a time of 48.89.
Bailey Rynkiewicz broke the 400 IM with a time of 4:29.80 while Arroyo Lopez del Castillo broke the men's mark in the same event with a time of 3:55.41.

In the evening session, Rynkiewicz set the mark in the 400 IM as she bettered her morning mark by two plus seconds (4:27.09). Arroyo Lopez del Castillo broke his own mark in the 400 IM, as he bettered his time from the morning by three seconds (3:52.43).
Saturday Events
Seven Hawks had strong showing in the prelims on Saturday morning and advanced to the Championship, Consolation or Bonus Finals.Â
Arroyo Lopez del Castillo was in a battle in the 1650 and his time of 15:22.70 was good enough for third place in the event.Â
