WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth Softball Head Coach Shannon Salsburg has announced the addition of outfielder Francesca Torraca, who is set to join the Hawks next season.
 
Torraca spent the last two years at the University of Washington, appearing in 51 total games. During her freshman season, the #3 Huskies advanced to the Women's College World Series semifinals. When her sophomore 2020 season was cut short, Washington was ranked #2 in the nation.
 
"I am really excited to add Francesca to our softball family," said Salsburg. "From the moment we first spoke, I felt she would be an outstanding addition to our team both on and off the field. Couple who she is with her elite softball experiences and I am thrilled she decided to join the program."
 
Torraca was named an NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete and earned a spot on the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll.
 
The Raritan, NJ native was named All-Conference every year at Immaculata High School. She competed with the Puerto Rican national team at the 2017 World Cup of Softball and took bronze at the Junior World Cup.
 
Torraca reached 1,000 hits in her junior year at Immaculata High School, and played club ball for the Beverly Bandits. She took gold at the Central American Games with Puerto Rico.
