CERASO AND DELLITURRI EARN WEEKLY MAAC HONORS

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ- Monmouth University seniors Nicole Ceraso (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) and Stephanie Delliturri (Ringoes, NJ/Hunterdon Central) have earned MAAC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively, league officials announced on Wednesday.

Ceraso led the Hawks in scoring in their first three games of the 2021 season, averaging six points a game. Ceraso recorded eight points, including seven assists (second most in a single game in Monmouth history) in Monmouth's 15-3 opening day win over Iona. She came back and had three goals and an assist against the Red Foxes two days later. With her last goal in Friday night's game against Marist, Ceraso became Monmouth's all-time leader in points scored with 252. Finishing her third game in six days Ceraso had another hat trick and three assists in Monmouth's 15-5 win over the Gaels to complete the sweep.

Delliturri backstopped the Hawks to two wins in three games in a six-day period last week. She recorded a 7.92 goals against average over those three games, recording a total of 32 saves in three games. In Monmouth's season-opener against Iona she had a career-high 14 saves while allowing just three goals and followed that up with nine saves in each of Monmouth's next two games.

Monmouth has the weekend off but will be back on the field when they host Quinnipiac on March 26 at 3 PM.
