WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth University Head Softball Coach Shannon Salsburg has announced the addition of Jim Gleason as Assistant Coach. For nine years, Gleason was a starting shortstop for the nationally-ranked New Jersey Bulls of the USSSA.  
 
"I am thrilled to add Jim to our coaching staff," said Salsburg. "Jim is a veteran coach and former men's player with a wealth of knowledge. While Jim primarily will work with our pitchers, I look forward to his input in the other aspects of the game. I am excited to have him and look forward to his contributions now and in the years to come." 
 
For the last four years, Gleason was an assistant coach at Brookdale Community College. In 2019, he helped elevate the program to a ranking of third in the nation. In addition, the team won a Region 19 Championship.
 
Other experience includes North Jersey Outlaws U18 Head Coach, Softball Coordinator at University of Athletic Performance Center, and Hazlet Hawks Travel Organization Director.
 
Since 2016, Gleason has been the President and Owner of Gleason Softball. As the lead, he developed training classes and clinics as well as advertised, procured, organized and scheduled training.
