Shannon Salsburg has announced the team's 2022 regular season schedule, which begins on February 18 in Florida and concludes on May 8. The Hawks are coming off a 25-9 season that saw them claim the third MAAC Regular Season Championship of Coach Salsburg's tenure.
Monmouth will open its 2022 campaign in Florida at The Spring Games, the world's largest college softball event. While there, the team will compete against Bethune-Cookman, North Carolina, Butler, Florida Atlantic, and Stetson.
Following The Spring Games, the Hawks will head to Conway, SC to compete in Coastal Carolina's Chanticleer Showdown, where they'll face the host, Maryland, Dartmouth, and Central Michigan from February 24-26.
The Blue and White will be back in Florida from March 4-6 for the JU/UNF Spring Break Challenge, facing host North Florida, Fairleigh Dickinson, and Saint Francis.
In between two DMV tournaments—the Towson University Invite from March 11-13 and the Capital City Classic from March 17-19—Monmouth will have its first home games of the season when they host Fairleigh Dickinson for a doubleheader on March 15.
The Hawks will open MAAC play with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 2 against Iona in West Long Branch, the first meeting between the two teams since 2019. Monmouth has posted an 84-28 record in league play under Coach Salsburg dating back to 2016.
MU closes out its 2022 regular season slate with a doubleheader at Rider on Sunday, May 8.
The 2022 MAAC Championships will run from Wednesday, May 11 to Saturday, May 14, and will be hosted by the number one seed.
