BOSTON, MA – Monmouth University Field Hockey earned several 2021 America East All-Conference awards, highlighted by one major award honor and six all-league selections, it was announced Wednesday.
Senior
Annick van Lange was named America East Offensive Player of the Year for her contributions on the Monmouth attack. The Belgium native led the Hawks and the America East with 17 goals and added five assists, giving her a team and conference-high 39 points on the year. It's the second time in van Lange's career that she's netted at least 17 goals in a season, and the senior is one of just five Hawks to reach the 17-goal mark in program history. She also posted three hat tricks during the regular season, giving her a program-record six over her four years as a Hawk.

Hanna McKie and freshman
Lorane Vanneste were named to the All-Conference Second Team. Vanneste,
Lieve Meidane, and
Jess Tucker were named to the All-Rookie Team.
McKie made an immediate impact as a forward for Monmouth, picking up a hat trick in just her second game as a Hawk. She finished the season with 12 goals (fourth in the America East) and 26 points (third) and was a two-time Offensive Player of the Week.
Vanneste started all 17 games for the Blue and White this season as she made contributions on both ends of the field. The back finished with ten goals and seven assists in her first collegiate season, both of which were sixth-most in the conference. Overall, her 27 points were good for fourth in the America East.
Meidane posted four goals and four assists on the season, totaling 12 points which was tied for fourth-most on the team. Her first goal was the game-winner in overtime against #15 Princeton, which was Monmouth's highest-ever ranked victory. She picked up her first career hat trick five days later in a 7-2 victory over UC Davis.
Tucker provided strong play as a forward and midfielder in her debut season, finishing sixth on the team with seven points (three goals, one assist). She appeared in 16 games for the Hawks in 2021 while earning six starts.
Monmouth clinched the second seed in the America East Championship, earning a first-round bye. They will play the winner of the UAlbany-Stanford match in the semifinals of the tournament on Friday, November 5 at 3:00 p.m in Orono, ME.
