WOMEN’S SOCCER RECOGNIZED WITH TEAM ACADEMIC AWARD

KANSAS CITY - For the 23rd consecutive year, the Monmouth University women's soccer team was named a United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award winner, the organization announced Thursday.

A total of 903 collegiate soccer teams on all levels (562 women, 341 men) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the Team Academic Award for the 2019-20 academic year. The Hawks combined for a 3.72 overall GPA last year.

"We are so proud of the continued commitment our team puts toward their academic performance," head coach Dr. Krissy Turner said. "This recognition is a credit to the players and our academic support staff who help them reach their potential as student-athletes."

This past spring semester, the Hawks combined for an overall 3.82 GPA, the highest mark in program history. Monmouth's men's soccer team was also recognized with the award, making Monmouth one of 183 schools with both programs honored.
