BOWLING FINISHES FOURTH IN MEAC EVENT

PENSACOLA, FL –  The Monmouth University bowling team secured its place in the 2020 MEAC Bowling Championships by virtue of its fourth-place finish at the final MEAC regular season competition over the weekend at Cordova Lanes.

#6 Maryland Eastern Shore won the event, with #18 Delaware State finishing as the runner up. #8 North Carolina A&T knocked off Monmouth 4-3 in Sunday's bracket play to finish third.

Sophomore Saige Yamada led Monmouth with a series score of 925 across five traditional games.

- The #22 ranked Hawks defeated #21 UAB in Baker format for their lone Top 25 victory. Monmouth went 4-1 overall in Baker matches.

- Monmouth's highest pin total in baker format was 987 in the win over Morgan State.

- Monmouth's largest margin of victory was 286 pins in the baker match win over Bethune-Cookman (935-649).

- Sophomore Saige Yamada had a high game of 237, giving her 13 on the season and 18 for her career.
