EDISON, NJ – The Monmouth University men's swimming team was selected to finish fifth in the annual Preseason Coaches' Poll, MAAC officials announced Friday.

The men's team earned 55 total points in the poll, while the women earned 54 points. Both teams are coming off their best performances at least year's MAAC Championships with sixth and seventh place conference finishes.

"Our goal every year has been to continue to improve," head coach Matt Nunnally said. "We are looking forward to continuing our upward trajectory as a program and expect to be in the conversation with the top teams in our league."

Both programs open their 2019-20 season on Oct. 18 when they travel to South Orange, NJ for a competition against Seton Hall and Montclair State. The meet is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
