MONMOUTH ANNOUNCES BASEBALL TURF PROJECT

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth University has announced the launch of the Baseball Turf Project, which will provide a state-of-the-art fully turfed baseball field on campus in addition to several new amenities at the baseball complex, including the addition of an alumni pavilion.

"This is an impact project for the University," said Vice President and Director of Athletics Dr. Marilyn McNeil. "Foremost, it will meet the necessary health and safety needs of our baseball players.  Secondly, it will expand the use of this area for our growing club program, camps and clinics, and the intramural needs of our general student body.  It will be a game changer for all of us."

MU has begun fundraising for the project, which include upgrades to the dugouts, fencing, batter's eye, bullpens, foul poles and batting cages. There are also plans for the addition of a pavilion down the right field line.

"This is an extremely exciting time for our program," said Monmouth Baseball Head Coach Dean Ehehalt. "The new turf field as well as the modern features will provide our student-athletes and fans with an incredible college baseball venue. For some time, past and present players have envisioned this brand-new turf and together we look forward to making this a reality."
