HOUSTON, TX –  The Monmouth University women's bowling team earned a ninth-place finish at the 2018 Track Kat Klash hosted by Sam Houston State over the weekend.

Monmouth went 10-3 during the three-day event, including a 3-0 record in Championship play on Sunday, which included consecutive wins over #22 Maryville, Youngstown State, and nationally ranked and conference foe UAB. The Hawks also claimed head-to-head wins over Youngstown State, Alabama A&M, and Southern during Friday's Baker competition.

Senior Haley Solberg paced the Hawks individually with a third overall finish as she averaged 214 over five traditional games, earning her All-Tournament Honors.

- The #23 ranked Hawks defeated two nationally-ranked opponents on Saturday in Traditional play, #7 Maryland Eastern Shore and #22 Maryville.
- The top-10 victory gives the Hawks their first top-10 win of the 2018-19 season. 
- Monmouth defeated two nationally-ranked foes in Championship play, beating #16 UAB and #22 Maryville.

- Monmouth's highest pin total in baker format was 893 against Youngstown State.
- Monmouth's largest margin of victory was 180 pins in the Baker match win over Alabama A&M (839-659). 
- Senior Haley Solberg led Monmouth with a 258 high game in traditional match play.
- Junior Kyla Day posted a high game of 221 in her Monmouth debut.
- In 70 games this weekend, Monmouth averaged 179.3 pins per game, which ranked 10th overall.
