TRAUTMAN ADDS KAESTNER AND VAN DYKE TO MONMOUTH STAFF

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ- Former Duke University standout Christie Kaestner and Stony Brook All-American Dorrien Van Dyke have been named as assistant lacrosse coaches, Monmouth Head Coach Jordan Trautman announced recently.

"I am extremely excited to welcome Christie Kaestner and Dorrien Van Dyke to the Monmouth Women's Lacrosse family," said first year Head Coach Jordan Trautman. "To have two coaches of their caliber join our staff is a tremendous asset to the program. They have both experienced the highest level of success everywhere they have been and collectively bring a knowledge, passion and work ethic that is second to none. It is easy to see why they have been so successful in the past and we could not be more excited to get to work!"

Kaestner comes to Monmouth after two seasons as an assistant coach at Ohio State University where she helped lead the Buckeyes to 19 wins, a Big Ten Tournament appearance and a trip to the NCAA Tournament. While in Columbus she served as the team's offensive coordinator, a position she also held at Coastal Carolina. Kaestner spent three seasons and an assistant in Conway, helping start the Chanticleer program while directing the offense, coordinating recruiting efforts and handling academic supervision.

A native of Trappe, Md., Kaestner was a first team All-American at Duke where she finished her Blue Devil career with 93 goals and 98 assists to rank ninth all-time in the Duke record book with 191 points.  As a senior in 2011, Kaestner earned first team first team All-ACC honors as she led the Blue Devils to the NCAA Semifinals and was named to the IWLCA All-South Region team in both 2010 and 2011. During her senior campaign, Kaestner set the Duke single-season assists record with 47 on her way to ranking second all-time with 98.

Van Dyke was a prolific offensive weapon for one of the most potent offenses in the country in Stony Brook. She earned All-American honors as a senior, finishing ranked second in Stony Brook history in goals (195), sixth in assists (81) and third in points (266). The Northport, NY native was a two-time First Team All-Region selection, a three-time First Team All-America East honoree and was named as a Tewaraaton Award finalist as a senior. During her time on Long Island, the midfielder helped guide the Seawolves to four straight America East Championships and NCAA appearances, as well as a No. 3 ranking and a berth to the NCAA Quarterfinals in 2017.

Monmouth begins its fifth season competing in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The Hawks, whom have made the MAAC Tournament each of the previous four years, return nine starters from last year's squad. Trautman was named as Monmouth's sixth women's lacrosse head coach in late July.
