FAIRFIELD, CT –  Despite outshooting Fairfield 15-8 and earning 10 more attacking corners, the 25th-ranked Monmouth University field hockey had its six-game win streak snapped as it fell to Fairfield, 3-1, Friday afternoon at University Field.Â
The Stags broke the ice in the 14th minute and converted again five minutes later to take a 2-0 lead into the break. Â Fairfield added to their lead in the 61st minute off a penalty corner before
Mallory Kusakavitch tipped in a shot off a corner with 3:06 left for the Hawks' lone score.
