SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – The Monmouth University men's and women's swimming teams competed in a tri-meet against a pair of New Jersey foes, Seton Hall and Montclair State, on Saturday afternoon at Arthur E. Imperatore Natatorium.
Both the men's and women's teams fell, but the Hawks posted a number of strong performances on the day. Freshman
Ryan Reutti highlighted the Hawks' individual efforts with a first-place finish in the men's 200-yard IM, while the men's 400-yard freestyle relay team of
Tyler Lutter,
Eric Sorensen,
Frank Nicola and
Billy Lyons claimed top spot in that event.
On the women's side, Gabby Cabaron placed second in the women's 200-yard IM, Mary Emich took second in the 50-yard freestyle and Jill Schaad was second in the 1,000-yard freestyle.

- Monmouth did not compete in the diving events, where Seton Hall and Montclair State earned points toward their team totals.
- Gabby Cabaron placed second in the 200-yard IM (2:19.79). Â
- Cabaron also took third in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:34.43.
- Mary Emich took second in the 50-yard freestyle (25.51).
- Anne Skimmons finished third in the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.74).
- Krysta Garcia was third in the 500-yard freestyle (5:27.74).

Trevor Askew was third in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:16.33.

Ryan Reutti picked up his third first-place finish of the 2017-18 season with his win in the 200-yard IM. His time was 2:04.40.
