Kelly Hanna registered a hat trick and freshman
Tamar Klinkhamer scored two first-half goals to help lead the Monmouth University field hockey team to a commanding 9-1 win at Siena, Friday afternoon. The Hawks, who improve to 12-3 on the season and 3-1 in MAAC play, outshot the Saints 28-3 while earning 10 attacking corners compared to just three for Siena.
Klinkhamer scored her two goals over a four minute span to spot the Hawks to an early 2-0 lead.
Elyssa Okken cleaned up a rebound in front of the cage in the 21st minute before Hanna scored her first of the day to allow the Hawks to enter the break ahead by four.
The Hawks continued right where they left off in the second half as
Mallory Kusakavitch scored 5:06 into the frame and two minutes ahead of
Rachel Konowal. Hanna scored her second of the afternoon a minute later, while
Georgia Garden Bachop tapped in a rebound off a corner to make it 9-0. Stephanie Hand stopped the Hawks' run and got Siena on the board in the 53rd minute, six minutes before Hanna capped off the scoring as she completed her second hat trick of the season.

- The Hawks have won the eight of the last nine meetings with the Saints.
- Hanna registered her third multi-goal game of 2017 and the fourth of her career. It is the junior's second career hat trick.
- Klinkhamer registered her first career multi-goal game to increase her season total to four. The rookie has three game-winning goals to her credit, including in the last two outings.
- Laszlo dished out a pair of assists to extend her point streak to 12 games. The senior, who increased her single-season assist record total to 22, has 29 points over the 12-game span.
- Okken and Konowal each converted their fifth goal of the season.
- Kusakavitch finished the afternoon with three points on a goal and an assist.
- Garden Bachop tapped in a rebound off a corner for her ninth tally of the year.

- Piersanti earned her 48th career victory in cage.

NEXT UP
Monmouth will travel to Rhode Island next Friday, October 27th, for the final road game of the regular season against Bryant. The Hawks and Bulldogs are slated for a 4 p.m. start. The Hawks will then celebrate senior on Sunday, October 29th when it welcomes long-time rival Rider to So Sweet A Cat Field.
