PROVIDENCE, RI – Four different Hawks scored, led by three points each from senior
Rachel Konowal and freshman
Tamar Klinkhamer, to lead the Monmouth University field hockey team to a 4-1 victory at Bryant, Friday afternoon. With the victory, the Hawks' fifth in a row, Monmouth clinches a berth in the upcoming MAAC Championships, which will be held November 3-5 at a location to be determined following results on Sunday.
MU, which outshot Bryant 13-0 in the opening half, built a 2-0 lead in the first 35 minutes. Konowal got the Hawks on the board in the eighth minute as she fired a shot from the circle line to the right side of the cage. Konowal then set up
Julie Laszlo in the 23rd minute to send the Hawks into the break with the two-goal lead.
Bryant cut the Monmouth advantage in half 10 minutes into the second frame, before
Georgia Garden Bachop's goal off a corner in the 59th minute put MU ahead again by two. Klinkhamer scored in the final minute off a corner to close out the scoring.

Christen Piersanti made one save for her 12th victory of the season.

PLAYOFF PICTURE
Fairfield defeated Siena 4-0 on Friday afternoon to clinch a berth to the MAAC Championships. The Stags (4-1) can claim at least a share of the MAAC Regular Season Title and the top seed with a victory on Sunday at Sacred Heart. A win for the Hawks on Sunday over Rider, which also clinched today via MU's victory, would give the Blue and White a piece of the regular season title for the fourth-straight season. A win over the Broncs coupled with a Fairfield loss, the Hawks would take the outright regular season crown and host the four-team tournament. Second-year program LIU Brooklyn (4-2) held on to defeat Sacred Heart on the road, 1-0, to clinch the final playoff spot.
NUMBERS CRUNCH
-Konowal, who has 20 points this season after her three-point game, has scored in the last two outings.
- Laszlo scored her sixth goal of the year to increase her point streak to 13 games. The senior has accumulated 31 points over the 13-game span.
- Garden Bachop notched her 10th goal of the season.
- Klinkhamer has a point in the last four outings and a goal in the last three.
- Piersanti earned her 49th career victory in cage.
- For the game, Monmouth outshot Bryant 26-4 and earned 10 corners, compared two second-half attacking corners for the Bulldogs. 19 of the Hawks' 26 shots reached cage.

Meg Donahue had four shots each.
- Bryant goalkeeper Lyndsay Swanston recorded 14 saves.
