WOMEN'S SOCCER HOLDS AT EIGHTH IN NSCAA NORTHEAST REGION

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. - Winners of its last eight matches, the Monmouth University women's soccer team is once again ranked eighth in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Northeast Region, the organization announced on Tuesday afternoon. Monmouth, which is now 14-4 overall and 9-1 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, is in the regional rankings for the fourth consecutive week.

Head coach Krissy Turner stated, "We are excited to continue to be ranked in a very competitive region. Our ability to generate scoring chances has been terrific and we have been very good in our team defending which certainly has led to getting results.”

The region's top-five remained the same as last week, as DePaul (the lone unbeaten at 15-0-3) leads the pack, followed by UCF, Georgetown, Connecticut and South Florida, while newcomer East Carolina and St. John's rank sixth and seventh respectively. Following Monmouth in eighth are Memphis in ninth position and MAAC member Fairfield in tenth place.

Monmouth, which has earned its second straight MAAC Regular Season Championship and the No. 1 seed in the upcoming tournament, has outscored its opposition 38-15 over its 18 games, and has posted 11 shutouts during that span, including five straight clean sheets.

Monmouth returns to action on Friday, November 7, when the Hawks host fourth-seeded Rider University in MAAC semifinal #2 on Hesse Field on The Great Lawn at 8:00 p.m. No. 2 seed Fairfield and No. 3 seed Niagara face off in the first semifinal on Hesse Field at 5:00 p.m.
