WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. - Monmouth University senior Amanda Schoenfeld (West Sayville, N.Y./Connetquot) was named Corvias ECAC Offensive Player of the Week, the organization announced late Wednesday night. Schoenfeld scored four goals during the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships, including a hat trick in the title game, while dishing out an assist to lead the Hawks to their first league crown and berth in the NCAA Tournament.

“Amanda has been one of the best leaders to come through our program,” commented head coach Carli Figlio. “Her work ethic and tireless commitment to bettering herself and the team is just a few of the characteristics of what we hope to pass on to the underclassman. She deserves every accolade and so much more. We will certainly miss her both on and off the field next season.”

Against fourth-seeded Sacred Heart, Schoenfeld, an All-MAAC First Team honoree, scored on her only shot of the game to give Monmouth a lead it would never relinquish. Two days later in the title game against second-seeded Rider, Schoenfeld posted her first career hat trick in her first career seven-point outing. The forward was named the All-MAAC Championship Team Most Valuable Player for her efforts.

Schoenfeld compiled a career-best 40 points this season, scoring 16 goals to go along with eight helpers, to move into sixth all-time with 75 career points. The two-time All-MAAC player has earned the starting job in 60 of her 71 career games, not missing a start the last three years for the Blue and White.

Monmouth, which was edged by Princeton 4-3 in the NCAA Tournament Play-In game yesterday, returns 15 letter winners from the MAAC Championship team, including nine starters to next year's squad.
