WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. - On Monday afternoon, Monmouth University freshman forward
Alexis McTamney (Bordentown, N.J./Bordentown Regional) was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week, for the third time this season.
McTamney, who added an assist and the game-winning goal in the Hawks' 2-1 victory over Canisius on Saturday afternoon, increased her team-leading point total to 14 points for the Blue & White. The freshman ranks second in the conference in points-per-game (1.56) and fourth in both goals (6) and total points (14).
McTamney was also named the MAAC Rookie of the Week on September 3 and September 9, and the ECAC Division I Offensive Player of the Week on September 10.
Monmouth, which is now 2-0-0 in the MAAC, is 8-1 overall and was ranked 8th in the NSCAA Northeast Region last week.
Monmouth returns to action on Wednesday night, when the Hawks host Manhattan College in MAAC action on The Great Lawn at 7:00 p.m.
