McTAMNEY NAMED MAAC WOMEN'S SOCCER ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. - Monmouth University freshman Alexis McTamney (Bordentown, N.J./Bordentown Regional) was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week by league officials on Tuesday afternoon. McTamney, who added four points on a pair of goals, helped lead the Hawks to a 2-0 record on the week.

McTamney, who earned her first career start in Monmouth's 1-0 road win at Lehigh on Thursday night, started and scored two goals in the first half in the Hawks' 3-2 victory over Seton Hall on Monday.

In three games played, McTamney leads the Hawks with five points on two goals and an assist, while six of her 11 shots have been on frame.

Monmouth, now 3-0 following season-opening wins over Delaware, Lehigh and Seton Hall, returns to action on Thursday night, when the Hawks host NJIT on The Great Lawn at 7 p.m.
