KATIE DONOHOE: YOUNG BLOOD FOR TEAM CANADA

Article written by Dale Clifford for the Peterborough Examiner

When Peterborough's Katie Donohoe got the email during Christmas break, she said it was literally a dream come true.

The 19-year-old sophomore at Monmouth University in West Long Branch N.J. and a goaltender on the Hawks women's field lacrosse squad was selected to the 18-member Team Canada unit that will be in the 2013 Women's Lacrosse World Cup in Oshawa, July 10 to 20.

''I was overjoyed. I didn't expect to be selected being one of the youngest goalies trying out,'' said Donohoe, who has enjoyed Kawartha club experience with coach Fred Blowes and represented Canada that won bronze in the world U19 championships in Germany in 2011.
