EDISON, N.J. – Monmouth University senior Alex Carroll (Oceanport, N.J./Shore Regional) was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Offensive Player of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday afternoon. Carroll, who earns her second league honor this season, led the Hawks with seven points in a weekend that saw the Blue and White record a pair of road conference wins over Siena and Bryant.

“Alex had an amazing weekend,” said head coach Carli Figlio. “She continues to be a constant contributor for us. Her leadership and work ethic is a major reason for our strong start in conference play.”

In Monmouth's first-ever MAAC contest, Carroll notched her fourth helper of the year, assisting on Trish O'Dwyer's (Dublin, Ireland/Loreto Beaufort) equalizer early in the first half in an eventual 3-2 win over the Saints. The local product registered a career day at Bryant on Sunday as she registered her first career hat trick, becoming the eighth player in program history to accomplish the feat, as she increased her team-leading goal count to seven. Carroll had a hand in three of the Hawks' four goals in the 4-0 blanking of the Bulldogs, including registering her second game-winning tally of the season.

Carroll and the Hawks return home to Sweet A Cat Field this Friday, October 25th, at 4 p.m. as they welcome Sacred Heart to West Long Branch, before hosting Quinnipiac at 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 27th.
