INDIANAPOLIS ? Monmouth University wrapped up the 2007 Outdoor Track & Field season with one current Hawk and one former Hawk competing at the AT&T USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted on the campus of IUPUI.
Monmouth senior Tisifenee Taylor (Woodbury, N.J./Woodbury) placed 13th in the long jump, an event in which she dominated all year. Her mark of 6.21m (20' 4 ?”) was 13th, which is still the best finish by a female member of Monmouth's track and field teams at the event.
Former Hawk Jon Kalnas' throw of 19.20m (63'0”) in the shot put was good enough for ninth place, just missing the mark for the finals by a mere two inches. His finish is the second best in school history by any current or former MU Hawk athlete at the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Kalnas may still have a shot to compete for the US at the 2007 Pan Am Games, but he will have to wait to see how the rest of the competitors finish up in the weekend.
