WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. - The Monmouth University men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 match to Quinnipiac in Northeast Conference play Sunday afternoon. The loss drops the Hawks record to 4-6 on the season.
The Blue and White was paced by Tom Corrie (Herfordshire, England/Roundwood Park) who was a straight-set winner at second singles 6-1, 7-5 over Stefano Salvatore.
MU did sweep the doubles point, as Corrie and Benjamin Evenden (Cresco, Pa./Ridgewood (N.J.)) were 8-6 winners at first doubles, Tim McLane (Green Cove Springs, Fla/Seven Bridges Prep) and Vik Gupta (Princeton, N.J./Princeton Day) were 9-8 winners at second singles and Pedro Bruno (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Sante Marcelina) and Corey Forrest (Ocala, Fla./Trinty Catholic) won 8-6 at third doubles.
The Hawks return to action on Tuesday, April 3 at 3 pm. when they host Rider.
