Hawks Fall to Elon in CAA Semifinals

ELON, N.C.  – Louis Keller picked up a win at second singles as the No. 3 Monmouth University men's tennis team fell to No. 2 Elon University in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Semifinals on Saturday. 
 
Elon took the early lead in the match with a pair of wins in doubles. The Phoenix won second and third doubles. Mateo Bivol and Keller were leading 6-5 in their first doubles match but that contest went unfinished.
 
Keller earned a 7-5, 6-4 win over Rafael Ymer at second singles to put a point on the board for the Hawks.
 
Elon clinched the match with wins at fifth, first and fourth singles.
 
Notes
- Monmouth was appearing in the CAA Semifinals for the second time in three years in the conference. 
- The Hawks fell to 0-2 against Elon since joining the CAA. Both losses have come in the CAA Semifinals.
- Monmouth finished the year at 19-4. It was the sixth time in the last eight years that the Hawks have won at least 15 matches. 
- Louis Keller finished the year with wins in each of his last six singles matches and in 12 of his last 13 matches (one went unfinished).
