Leicht Adds Three Talented Players to 2025-26 Roster

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth University men's tennis head coach Chris Leicht has announced the addition of three new student-athletes to the program for the upcoming fall semester, Luka Sauer Jimenez, Ota Ungerman and Tyler Nguyen. 
 
"I am very excited to add this talented group of transfers to our Monmouth Tennis Family," said Head Coach Chris Leicht. "These guys are all accomplished student-athletes who I know will contribute immediately to our program. I can't wait to get them on campus and start our 25-26 season. Fly Hawks!"
 
Luka Sauer Jimenez 
Class: Senior
Height: 5'11"
Hometown: Nyon, Switzerland
Previous School: Georgia College and State University
 
Before Monmouth
  • Three-year contributor at Georgia College and State University. 
  • Competed in nine matches as a freshman.
  • Went 3-2 in singles play as a sophomore for Georgia.
  • Was named Second Team All-Peachbelt for singles as a junior. Went 16-7 in singles action, including 10-3 at No. 3 singles.
  • Was a Swiss Championship semifinalist for the U16 and quarterfinalist U18.

Ota Ungerman 
Class: Junior

Hometown: Brussels, Belgium

  • Played two years at Bryant University.
  • Saw time at first singles as a freshman.
  • Earned 10 wins at number one singles this past season. 
  • Member of the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.

Tyler Nguyen 
Class: Junior
Height: 6'0"
Hometown: Fountain Valley, Cal.
Previous School: St. Francis University (Pa.)
 
Before Monmouth
  • Played the last two seasons at St. Francis (Pa.)
  • Named the NEC Rookie of the Year and First Team All-NEC for singles and doubles in 2023-24.
  • Went 17-7 in singles and 20-7 in doubles play as a freshman.
  • Named First Team All-NEC for doubles and Second Team All-NEC for singles as a sophomore.
  • Went 16-10 in doubles and earned seven wins in singles.
