AMY HOYER NAMED THIRD-TEAM ALL-MID ATLANTIC REGION

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. - Monmouth University senior Amy Hoyer (Chesterfield, N.J./Northern Burlington), the 2007 Northeast Conference Player of the Year, was named third-team All-Mid Atlantic Region by the NSCAA. Hoyer is Monmouth's second straight third-team all-region member, joining Andrea Lopez (Oakhurst, N.J./Ocean Township) in 2006.

Hoyer, who became the fourth Hawk to earn NEC Player of the Year honors (Christie Pearce Rampone 1995, 1996; Andrea Lopez 2006) led the Hawks with 14 points, on five goals and four assists. The senior forward also notched four game-winning scores during the year. Hoyer earned first-team honors last season and was tabbed second-team all-league as a freshman.

“We are very happy for Amy to be selected to the NSCAA Mid Atlantic Region third team,” said head coach Krissy Turner. “Amy has had a brilliant career at Monmouth and this is a prestigious honor for her and our program. The Mid Atlantic Region in women's soccer is one of the best in the country and for Amy to be one of the top 33 players is quite an accomplishment and well deserved.”

Monmouth, which won the 2007 regular season and tournament championships, has posted back-to-back 12-win seasons for the first time since 1994-1996.

The Mid Atlantic Region in NCAA Division I women's soccer consists of all the Division I schools in West Virginia, Virginia, Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Kristen McDermott (1998) and Kara Yereance (1997) also were tabbed third-team all-region during their careers at Monmouth.
