WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth field hockey sophomore forward
Claire Campen has been named the CAA Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.
The honor is the first of Campen's career and marks the second straight week a Hawk has earned the award, following Anna Moors' recognition last week.
Campen tallied six points over the weekend, scoring in Friday's 5-2 win over Temple before recording a career-high two goals in Sunday's 7-1 victory over Rider. She netted the go-ahead goal in the second quarter against the Broncs, and Monmouth never relinquished the lead.
The Hawley, Pa., native has totaled 10 points through the Hawks' first four games, already matching her season output from a year ago.
Campen and Monmouth return to action Friday at 6 p.m. when they travel to Bethlehem, Pa., to face Lehigh.
