FINAL SCORE
No. 14 Monmouth – 0
No. 2 Harvard – 2
WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – On a beautiful Sunday afternoon at So Sweet a Cat Field, No. 14 Monmouth University battled hard but came up short against No. 2 Harvard, falling 2-0 to the nationally ranked Crimson.
Harvard wasted no time getting on the board, as Kitty Chappele scored just one minute into the match. From that point on, the Crimson never relinquished their lead.
Despite a strong defensive effort by the Hawks that kept Harvard off the board for 35 minutes, the visitors doubled their advantage in the 37th minute when Sage Pierkarski found the back of the cage.
Monmouth struggled to generate offense against Harvard's staunch defense, failing to register a shot on goal. The Crimson goalkeeper was not called upon to make a save throughout the contest.
