Monmouth (9-23) – 3
MERION STATION, Pa. – Monmouth University Softball saw offensive sparks from
Giana Scotti and
Jayla Cadena, who each homered, but a pair of big innings from Saint Joseph's led to a 9-3 setback on Wednesday afternoon at SJU Softball Field.
Monmouth recorded eight hits in the contest, with Cadena leading the way with a 2-for-4 performance, including a two-run home run in the fourth, her first in a Hawks uniform. Scotti added a solo shot in the same inning, while

Saint Joseph's broke through with four runs in the third before Monmouth responded in the fourth. Scotti's leadoff home run put the Hawks on the board, and after a single by Picone, Cadena launched a two-run shot to cut the deficit to 4-3.
