WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Olivia Lewis was named the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Softball Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Lewis shined in the circle during Monmouth's weekend sweep at North Carolina A&T, securing the first 3-0 start for the Hawks since joining the league. The sophomore allowed just two earned runs in three appearances while sporting a 1-0 record and a save in 10.1 innings of work. She recorded a five-inning complete game shutout on Friday, striking out four batters, and then threw four innings in relief to collect a save in the win Saturday, also striking out four. The New York native capped the weekend recording four outs in relief Sunday's thrilling 11-10 win.
