WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Two Monmouth field hockey players earned CAA weekly honors following the Hawks' regular-season finale.
Freshman
Florence van Doorn was named the CAA Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, while
Maia McCourt earned her first career CAA Rookie of the Week award.
Both players played key roles in helping Monmouth secure the CAA Regular-Season Title with a 4–1 victory over Northeastern. With the win, the Hawks improved to 12–3 overall and 5–0 in CAA play.
Van Doorn recorded a career-high four points in the win, tallying one goal and two assists while anchoring a defense that only allowed one goal.
McCourt opened the scoring with her first-quarter goal to set the tone for the Hawks who would remain in control the remainder of the gamer.
Van Doorn, McCourt and the Hawks will face Hofstra in the CAA Semifinal on Friday at 10 a.m. The game will be streamed live on FloCollege.
