TOWSON, Md. – The Monmouth women's soccer team scored a pair of first-half goals in a 3-0 shutout over Towson on Sunday afternoon at Tiger Field in Towson, Md.
Emily De Almeida and
Evangeline Perdomo found the back of the net in the opening 45 minutes, and the fifth clean sheet of the season by netminder
Tallulah Miller and the Monmouth defense led the Hawks to their fourth straight victory in conference play.
Monmouth was responsible for the first three shot attempts in the match, as
Loren Gehret,
Chloe Messer and
Summer Reimet each missed wide inside of six minutes.
The Hawks found twine in the 25
th minute when
Emily De Almeida buried a shot off a deflected cross, giving Monmouth the game's opening goal and a 1-0 lead.
After
Ashley Lavrich rang the woodwork in the 38
th minute, Monmouth went back on the attack one minute later. Lavrich forced a turnover in the middle of the field and played a ball out wide to
Alex Dreihaup. The rookie found Perdomo, who scored the Hawks' second goal of the first half with a diving header.
The Monmouth defense closed out a strong opening 45 minutes, holding Towson to just two shots and one attempt on goal in the first half.
The Tigers opened the second half with a pair of shots, forcing Miller to make a save from point-blank range. In the 68
th minute, Gehret put a rifle on net from 20 yards out, but a diving stop from Teagan Gardner kept Towson within a pair.
Miller made her third save of the afternoon with just over 12 minutes remaining, but a strong defensive clearance from
Cadi Hoke thwarted the threat.
In the 86
th minute, Gehret's free kick from the right side deflected off a Towson defender into the goal, putting a finishing touch on the Hawks' 3-0 victory, earning Monmouth its largest margin of victory in 2025.

Notes:
- Emily De Almeida scored her third goal of the season and her second in the last two games. It is the first time in her three-year career she scored in back-to-back games, and her three goals this year tie her career-best for a season.
- All three of De Almeida's scores this season have either tied the game or given the Hawks the lead.
- Evangeline Perdomo scored her third goal of the season and her second tally in conference play. The rookie leads all Monmouth freshmen with seven points.
- Alex Dreihaup earned the primary assist on Perdomo's score, the second helper of her rookie campaign. Ashley Lavrich was credited with the secondary assist, her fourth of the season.
- Tallulah Miller made four saves, her 10th game this season with at least three stops. She also earned her fifth clean sheet of the season.
- Defender Cadi Hoke played all 90 minutes for the 13th straight game.
- The 3-0 victory is Monmouth's largest margin of victory this season and its first win by three goals since a 3-0 triumph over William and Mary on Sept. 26, 2024. It is the team's largest road victory since a 6-0 shutout at UAlbany on Aug. 22, 2024.
- The Hawks are 7-1-1 when scoring first this year, 4-1-1 in road games and 5-1 when leading at the half.
- After starting conference play 0-2, Monmouth has won four straight and stands at 4-2 in CAA play, moving intp a tie for first place in the conference's North Division.
- With the win, Monmouth hands Towson its first home loss of the season and becomes the first team to hold the Tigers scoreless in 2025
- With the victory, Monmouth clinches its program-record 20th consecutive winning season. Head Coach Kylee Flynn has led the Hawks to winning campaigns in each of her first four years at the helm of the program.
