RICHMOND, Va. – Monmouth women's soccer goalkeeper Tallulah Miller was named the Coastal Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, the conference announced Monday.
Miller continued her strong run in goal on Sunday, making a season-high seven saves to lead the Hawks to a 2-0 shutout victory over Columbia at Hesse Field on The Great Lawn. The clean sheet was Miller's third in a row and fifth of the season.
After earning the award a week ago, Miller becomes the first Monmouth women's soccer player to earn CAA weekly honors in consecutive weeks since the Hawks joined the conference in 2022.
The graduate netminder was tested throughout the afternoon against the Lions, turning aside all seven shots that reached goal. Her performance helped Monmouth close out its non-conference schedule with three straight shutouts, the first time the team has recorded back-to-back-to-back clean sheets since 2024
Miller has now held opponents scoreless five times through eight matches this season while helping the Hawks to a 5-1-2 record. She has allowed just five goals across 720 minutes.
The Mechanicsville, Va., native has collected 10 shutouts during her two seasons at Monmouth. Sunday's clean sheet against Columbia came one week after Miller posted consecutive shutouts against St. John's and NJIT to earn her first CAA Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season.
This marks the third CAA weekly honor of Miller's Monmouth career. She first received the award on Oct. 6, 2025, after allowing just one goal and making eight saves across victories over Drexel and Hofstra before collecting the recognition again last Monday.
This is the fourth weekly CAA recognition for the Hawks this season. On Aug. 31, Ashley Lavrich was tabbed the conference's offensive player of the week and Saar van der Boom earned rookie of the week honors.
Miller and the Hawks will now turn their attention to conference play, kicking off the CAA portion of the schedule on Sunday, Sept. 20, when they travels to Stony Brook for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
