Moors Leads Comeback Win Over JMU, 4-3

HARRISONBURG, Va. – Sophomore Anna Moors scored the game-winning goal with 5:10 remaining as the Monmouth University Field Hockey team came from behind to beat James Madison, 4-3, in Harrisonburg on Sunday afternoon.
 
The win marks the first 1-0 start on the road for the Hawks since the Spring 2021 campaign.
 
After falling behind 3-1 in the third, Monmouth scored the game's final three goals over the last 15:10. Freshman Claire Campen collected her second goal of the season with 10 seconds remaining in the third frame off India Shakespeare's second assist of 2024. Fellow freshman Milla Frye netted her third goal of the season 4:31 into the fourth quarter after Moors fed her inside the circle from distance.

Sofia Fouces opened the game's scoring with her third goal this year and 21st of her career in the first off a rebound. The Dukes answered later in the period, and then took the lead with two goals in the third.

Goalkeeper Jessie Eiselin made 11 more stops on the day including four each in the second and third quarters. The Netherlands native now has double-digit save performances in all four of Monmouth's contests this year, as the Hawks have matched their best start through their season's first four games since 2021.
