Reimet and Coster Take Home CAA Weekly Accolades

September 30, 2024

RICHMOND, VA. – After helping lead the Hawks to a 2-0 week, Monmouth University women's soccer forward Summer Reimet and goalkeeper Cassie Coster were honored as the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) announced its weekly awards.

Reimet was named the CAA Offensive Player of the Week while Coster took home CAA Co-Defensive Player of the Week accolades. Both players were honored for the first time this season. It is the sixth and seventh time that a Hawk has earned player of the week honors from the CAA this season.

Reimet had a seven-point week that helped power the Hawks to their 2-0 mark last week. Reimet tallied three goals, including two game-winners, and an assist in the two games combined.

Reimet started the week with a two-goal performance in the Hawks' 3-0 win over William & Mary. Her two second half tallies gave the Hawks a lead they would not relinquish in their first CAA win of the year. It was Reimet's second brace of the season.

On Sunday in the 2-1 win at Northeastern, Reimet factored in both Monmouth goals. Her assist on the first goal of the game gave Monmouth the early advantage. She then scored her team and CAA leading eighth goal of the season to give Monmouth a 2-1 lead in the win.

Reimet's eight goals this season are a career-high for the junior in a single-season. She has a career-best 19 points this season.

Coster played a key role in the Hawks going 2-0 last week as she posted a 0.50 goals against average and a .933 save percentage in 180 minutes of action last week.

Coster started her week with five saves in a 3-0 win over William & Mary. She picked up her fifth shutout of the season and 25th of her Monmouth career in the win.

On Sunday in the 2-1 win at Northeastern, Coster recorded a season-high nine saves, including five in the second half to secure the win.

Coster, who moved well off her lines to disrupt the play before the shot could be taken several times now has six wins on the season and 30 for her career.

Reimet, Coster and the rest of the Hawks are back in action on Thursday, Oct. 3 when they travel to Stony Brook for a 6 p.m. match.
