WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Sophomore goalkeeper
Jessie Eiselin of the Monmouth University Field Hockey team was named the CAA Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.
Eiselin made 10 saves on 11 shots on goal in the 5-1 victory over Lehigh to kick off the 2024 season. It marked the third time in her career that she posted double-digit saves in a game. The 2024 NFHCA Division I Watch List member and Netherlands native did not see a shot in the first quarter but stopped two each in the second and third before turning aside six of seven in the fourth.
Eiselin and the Hawks – now 2-0 after a Monday win over VCU – take on in-state rival No. 9 Rutgers at So Sweet A Cat Field on Friday, Sept. 6. The game will be broadcasted live on FloSports at 3 p.m.
