WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Mia Marinakis and Dani Dabroski have joined the Monmouth University Softball coaching staff, Head Coach Morgan Royer announced Friday afternoon.
 
Marinakis makes her way to West Long Branch as Royer's full-time assistant coach after a two-year stint as a graduate assistant on Canisius's staff. In both 2023 and 2024, Marinakis helped guide Canisius to back-to-back appearances in the MAAC championship game. The Southern California native played from 2018-2022 with stops at Cal State Fullerton and Middle Tennessee State. In the circle as a sophomore at MTSU, Marinakis finished inside top 10 for strikeouts in Conference-USA. A member of the Greek National Team from 2017-19, Marinakis graduated from Middle Tennessee State in 2022 with a bachelor's degree in special education, and then completed a master's degree in physical education from Canisius in 2024.
 
"I am so excited to add Mia to our staff," Royer said. "She has been around the game at a high level for long time, and her vast knowledge of softball will improve our team immensely. I am really looking forward to watching her develop our pitching staff and bring in high-character and athletically talented student-athletes."

Dabroski stays with the Hawks after spending one season as the starting left fielder where she batted .307 while recording 12 multi-hit outings and stole a team-high 24 bases. The New Jersey native paced Monmouth with 38 runs and 31 walks, both of which ranked inside the top five in the CAA. Dabroski joins the staff as she works towards finishing her MBA.
 
"Dani has already helped in this transition tremendously," Royer stated. "She brings such a professional, bubbly personality to coaching. Dani wants nothing but the best for this program, and she will give everything she has to this team."
