July 23, 2024

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Monmouth University women's soccer head coach Kylee Flynn announced the addition of Justin Howell to her staff.

"I am very grateful for this opportunity to add to our staff and thrilled that we found the perfect fit with Justin Howell," said Flynn. "His knowledge of the game is evident through his coaching and playing experiences. More importantly, Justin's high character and enthusiasm will positively enhance our team culture both on and off the field."

Howell brings a wealth of experience both on the college and club level, having worked primarily as a goalkeeper coach throughout his career.

He spent the previous season as an assistant coach and goalkeeper coach at Felician University. There Howell helped Felician lower its goals conceded on the season total by 15. He was involved in the planning of team and goalkeeper training, film analysis and more.

Howell served as the assistant and goalkeeper coach at Army West Point from May 2021 to June 2022. There he was involved in all aspects of team planning and training. Howell helped coach two All-Conference players and one of the rookie goalkeepers set a rookie record with a 1.13 goals against average.

Prior to West Point, Howell was the volunteer assistant and goalkeeper coach at the University of San Francisco. He also spent seasons at the University of Kansas and George Washington.

Howell played at Drake University before moving into the professional ranks and spending time with the New Orleans Shell Shockers and the Minnesota Thunder.

Howell currently coaches for Morris Elite Soccer Club and is in the process of earning his USSF B license this year.
