West Long Branch, N.J. – Monmouth University Men's Basketball will embark on a foreign tour to Italy, where the team will participate in a cultural experience across Rome, Florence, Venice and Como and play three exhibition games.
Through fundraised dollars, Monmouth will spend 10 days from June 20-29 across four cities in Italy, where the student-athletes will be immersed in a new culture and partake in a once-in-a-lifetime educational opportunity. The group will visit several historical sites, including The Vatican, St. Peter's Basilica, The Colosseum and much more. Monmouth has collaborated with the University's Global Education Office to provide MU men's basketball student-athletes this unique chance to see Italy from a new perspective.
The Hawks will play three games throughout the trip, giving the team an opportunity to grow both on and off the court. Those games will take place on June 22, 24 and 27 with times and opponents to be confirmed shortly.
An international trip was originally scheduled to occur in 2020 but was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This marks Monmouth Men's Basketball's first foreign tour since the summer of 2015, when the Hawks visited several cities across China.
