Collins Named Finalist for Nolan Richardson Award

March 19, 2026

BOSTON, Mass. – Monmouth University men's basketball senior guard Jack Collins has been named a finalist for the Nolan Richardson Award presented by CollegeInsider.com.

The award is presented annually to a Division I player who is the heart and soul of his team and a leader on and off the court.

The Nolan Richardson award is named in honor of one of the true legends of the game. His frenetic style of fast-break basketball, with full-court pressure, helped him become the only coach to win NJCCA, NIT and NCAA National Championships.

The recipient of the annual award is determined by a 10-member voting committee, which consists of current and former head coaches, as well as two senior staff members of collegeinsider.com.

Collins started 31 games this season for the Hawks and served as the team captain while leading the Hawks to an appearance in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Championship game.

He averaged 7.0 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. Collins led the team with 139 assists and ranked third in the CAA for assists per game (4.5). He was also second in the CAA while averaging 1.6 steals per game and fifth in minutes per game (34.9), despite dealing with injuries for most of the season, including a lower body injury that limited his minutes in the second half of the season.

He had seven double digit scoring games and 13 games with five or more assists, including three games with 10 or more assists.

For his career, he appeared in 130 of a possible 133 games. He scored over 1,200 points in his career and grabbed over 680 rebounds. Collins handed out 360 assists to go along with 196 steals.

The 2026 Nolan Richardson award winner will be announced in Indianapolis, IN, site of the Men's Division I Basketball Championship.
