Monmouth Men's Basketball Releases Non-Conference Schedule

Hawks to Play Five Games Against Teams in Last Year's NCAA Tournament

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Five games against teams that advanced to the 2026 NCAA Tournament highlight the 2026-27 Monmouth University men's basketball non-conference schedule released by head coach King Rice.
 
Rice and the Hawks get their work for the 2026-27 campaign underway on Saturday, Oct. 24 as Seton Hall comes to Monmouth for an exhibition contest. The Hawks and Pirates have met each of the last four years during the regular season. 
 
The exhibition slate wraps up on Tuesday, Oct. 27 when the Hawks host Rhode Island College. 
 
The regular season gets underway for Rice and the Hawks on Monday, Nov. 2 when they visit St. John's. The Red Storm advanced to last year's Sweet Sixteen and it will be the first meeting between the two schools since 2021.
 
The Hawks face a neutral site test as they take on Rhode Island on Saturday, Nov. 7 as part of the Naismith Hall of Fame Tip Off at the Mohegan Sun. 
 
Monmouth remains on the road to visit Quinnipiac on Thursday, Nov. 12. It will be the 48th meeting between the two schools.
 
The Hawks head south to face Wake Forest on Tuesday, Nov. 17. It will be the second meeting between the two schools and the first since 1984. 
 
It's an in-state battle on Friday, Nov. 20 as the Hawks travel to Princeton. The Hawks picked up a thrilling 63-58 win in West Long Branch last season. 
 
It's a homecoming as Rice takes Monmouth to Chapel Hill, North Carolina to take on the University of North Carolina on Monday, Nov. 23. Rice played for the Tar Heels from 1987-91 and his 629 career assists ranks sixth in program history. Rice helped the Tar Heels win the ACC and the NCAA East Regional in 1991. Assistant coach Brian Reese also played for the Tar Heels.
 
The Hawks play their first home game of the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 28 when they host St. Joseph's.
 
December starts with a road trip to Cincinnati on Wednesday, Dec. 2. It will be the second meeting between the two schools. 
 
Monmouth visits Lehigh on Saturday, Dec. 5. Monmouth has won two of the last three in the series. 
 
The Hawks return home on Tuesday, Dec. 8 to host La Salle.
 
Monmouth visits Robert Morris on Sunday, Dec. 13 before returning home to host Siena on Tuesday, Dec. 15.
 
The Hawks head to Philadelphia to battle Penn on Saturday, Dec. 19. 
 
The non-conference slate wraps up on Monday, Dec. 21 as Cornell visits West Long Branch.
